Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today:

Super Bowl prep weather: Some Super Bowl fans will want to toss the football around during halftime of the big game on Sunday. The weather will allow for practice before the telecast because the forecast is for mostly sunny skies through Sunday in Sacramento. So, get that arm in halftime shape - for football flings or chicken wings. Today’s high is expected to be a warm 64 degrees.

Kings kick in cash: The Sacramento Kings’ ownership group, led by Vivek Ranadive, will become minority investors in Sacramento Republic FC, the wildly successful minor league soccer team looking to join Major League Soccer.

Another measles test: The Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services confirmed Wednesday that test results on a suspected case of measles came back negative. But a second potential case has emerged. In a joint media briefing, Placer and Sacramento health officials said a second patient suspected of having measles has been tested. Results are expected today.

Skiing ‘4Her’: A trio of programs launched at Northstar California, Heavenly Mountain Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort this season cater to women’s ski techniques and scheduling needs. Many women report feeling unsupported or uncomfortable in mixed gender settings, research shows.

Loss for Lions: Thieves last week stole thousands of dollars’ worth of cooking equipment from the Elk Grove Lions Club, whose pancake breakfasts and spaghetti feeds support schools, senior centers and nonprofits across the city.

Where will Hornets hold court?: The Sacramento State men’s basketball team could earn the right to host the Big Sky championship tournament. But the 1,102-seat Hornets Nest isn’t big enough and can’t accommodate ESPN’s cameras. The search is on for an alternate location.

Toronto victorious: Former Sacramento King Greivis Vasquez had 18 points, including 12 in the pivotal third quarter, and six assists as the host Toronto Raptors handed the Kings their seventh straight loss, 119-102, Wednesday.
