It’s ‘Moth Night’ in Davis
The UC Davis Bohart Museum of Entomology hosts “Moth Night” to showcase its collection of moths and other insects. The family-friendly event will include crafts, explanations from scientists – and hot chocolate. The free event takes place from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in Room 1124 of the Academic Surge building on Crocker Lane on the UC Davis campus.
Fire station open house
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District will host an open house at Station 106. The “It’s YOUR Firehouse” event allows the public to tour a fire station, squirt water from a fire hose, explore a firetruck and learn lifesaving skills such as hands-only CPR. The free event will include demonstrations and refreshments. It runs from 10 a.m. to noon, Metro Fire Station 106, 2200 Park Towne Circle, Sacramento.
5K race in East Sac
The City of Sacramento 5K Championship will take place as part of the ninth annual Fab 40s 5K Run/Walk in East Sacramento. The event benefits the Alzheimer’s Association, and more than 1,200 people are expected to participate. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with three kids races, followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. It starts and ends at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
Carmichael concert
The Carmichael Concerts in the Park series continues with “Group Therapy,” a classic rock and R&B band. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Carmichael Park, Daniel Bishop Memorial Pavilion, 5750 Grant Ave., Carmichael.
