RT work, lane closures at CRC

Construction activities – and lane closures – related to Sacramento Regional Transit District Blue Line to Cosumnes River College light-rail extension project are planned through next week. According to RT, night work requiring a large crane and lane closures are planned from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday at the east entrance to the college. Lane closures will also take place periodically from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Aug. 12 at the college’s east entrance while a contractor installs handrailing on the pedestrian bridge, RT reports.

Roseville council meets

The Roseville City Council meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 311 Vernon St. Among the topics to be discussed is the flood emergency response project, which will begin the upgrade of the regional flood alert system to the latest communication protocol and add two new flood alert gauges upstream of Roseville.

Watch speeds, Rocklin motorists

The Rocklin Police Department’s Traffic Unit is conducting a speed enforcement program near Whitney Boulevard, and Argonaut and Midas avenues. Motorcycle officers will provide education about driving behavior that leads to collisions as well as issuing citations for violations. According to the department, the speed limits for those areas are 35 mph on Whitney and 30 mph on Argonaut and Midas.
