Today in Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Friday

Police swearing-in ceremony

The Roseville Police Department conducts its annual swearing-in and promotion ceremony at 1 p.m. at Roseville High School’s Patti Baker Theater, 1 Tiger Way. Mayor Carol Garcia, City Manager Rob Jensen and Police Chief Daniel Hahn plan to welcome 26 employees and 11 volunteers who have joined the Police Department in the past year. The public is invited.

CHP checkpoint planned

The California Highway Patrol plans to conduct a driving under the influence and driver’s license safety checkpoint Friday somewhere within the unincorporated area of Sacramento County.
