DUI checkpoint planned in Meadowview area

The Sacramento Police Department will conduct a sobriety and driver license checkpoint on Meadowview Road near Amherst Street. The checkpoint will begin at 7:30 p.m. and continue for five to seven hours.

Family Campout at Fairytale Town

An overnight Family Campout is planned at Fairytale Town’s Storybook Park. The event, which includes a theater performance, crafts activities, a scavenger hunt, bedtime stories, and a sing-along, begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues until 7 a.m. Saturday with a light continental breakfast. Roseville libraries closed for a day

All Roseville public library locations, Maidu Museum and Historic Site, and Roseville Utility Exploration Center will be closed Friday for a staff development day.

▪ The Movies in the Park series continues at North Natomas Regional Park with the screening of “Zootopia.” The event is from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at 4989 Natomas Blvd., Sacramento. Families are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks to set up in front of the big screen. There will be free water and popcorn (while supplies last).

▪ The free Friday Night Concerts series continues in Rancho Cordova, with the group Rebel Yell performing at 7 p.m. at Village Green Park, 3141 Bridgeway Drive.
