Accomplishment: Distributed $65 packages of school and dental supplies to 270 Susan B. Anthony Elementary School students
Details: The kits are part of more than 10,000 assembled by 500 volunteers in December. The nonprofit K to College helps students with material needs.
Kudos to: Triumph Cancer Foundation
Accomplishment: Helps cancer survivors bounce back
Details: Triumph helps cancer survivors through physical fitness. Triumph offers a 12-week strength and fitness program for those who have recently completed cancer treatment in the Sacramento region. The program is offered at Rollingwood Athletic Club in Fair Oaks.
Kudos to: Theresa Hollenbeck, Churchill Middle School science teacher
Accomplishment: Named California League of Middle Schools Region 3 Educator of the Year
Details: For 14 years, Hollenbeck has worked in Churchill’s International Baccalaureate program and International Passport program. The educator of the year award is given each year to 11 educators from throughout the state who exemplify excellence.
