SMUD: Power is restored in East Sacramento

SMUD reported that power has been restored to about 3,800 customers in East Sacramento, where the outage occurred Friday night.

The cause was a faulty underground cable, said Bob Burns, a spokesman for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

Burns said some customers’ power had come back on by about 10:30 p.m. and all power was restored by midnight.
