There’s a buzz at Flora Fresh Inc., a wholesale flower dealer in Sacramento, on the Thursday before Valentine’s Day – one of the busiest times of the year in the flower business.

“Valentine’s Day is about the red roses and all about what it means,” Cheryl Sage of Accents by Sage in Sacramento said. “Red is heart and love.”

“It’s hectic,” said Allan Nishita, the owner of Flora Fresh, where business is three times busier than normal. “It’s also a stressful time,” he added. “We want to make sure our retail customers are getting quality.”

Customers have just one day to stock up on flowers for the special person in their life before Saturday’s celebration of romance.
