Dispute leads to gunshots in North Natomas parking lot

A dispute between two acquaintances led to gunshots when they encountered each other outside a North Natomas business Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred about 1:15 p.m. in a parking lot on Club Center Drive at Regency Park Drive. Sacramento police spokeswoman Officer Traci Trapani said the victim had stopped at a tobacco shop and was getting in his car when the other man pulled into the parking lot in a vehicle.

The two men exchanged words and one man pulled out a pistol and fired four shots at the victim’s vehicle. Two shots struck the hood, one hit the driver’s side headlight and one struck the bumper on the driver’s side, Trapani said.

The victim was not injured and did not report the incident to police until two hours later, she said.

As of Friday, no arrests had been made.
