Davis father accused of injuring infant son
A Davis father was arrested Thursday night, accused of seriously injuring his 7-week-old son.
Police officers were dispatched to Sutter Davis Hospital about 7:21 p.m. regarding a report of an infant who had suffered severe head trauma while in the care of his father, according to a Police Department news release. The child was transferred to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
The child’s father, 36-year-old Victor Duarte Briones, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily injury to a child. Police said he was booked into the Yolo County jail with bail set at $500,000
Detectives served a search warrant related to the investigation in the 2300 block of Shasta Drive.
