A 25-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning after he reportedly broke into a Granite Bay home and stole items, armed with a pole saw, Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Just before 6 a.m., residents of a home on North Lake Circle called 911 to say they woke up to a man, later identified as Marshall Steele Gustafson, of Granite Bay, stealing items and carrying a 6- to 8-foot pole saw.
The residents chased Gustafson out of their home without being injured and Gustafson fled toward Auburn Folsom Road, the Sheriff’s Office reports.
Deputies arrived and chased Gustafson. Dena Erwin, spokeswoman for Placer County Sheriff Department, said Gustafson was found the same morning in his parents’ backyard on Blue Oaks Lane.
