A 26-year-old teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old student at a Marysville high school.
Marysville police arrested Laura Nicole Lasek of Yuba City on Friday. She was charged with oral copulation with a person under 16 and sexual intercourse with a person under 16.
According to a news release from Marysville police, officials at Thomas E. Mathews Community School confronted Lasek after hearing that she had sent sexually explicit messages to the boy on Facebook.
Marysville police interviewed the boy, who said that he had had a sexual relationship with Lasek for two months, according to the news release.

Lasek was booked into the Yuba County jail and released after posting a $211,000 bail.
Thomas E. Mathews is run by the Yuba County Office of Education and serves as its court and community school, based on the county office’s website. Lasek was hired last fall to teach at the school, according to minutes from a Yuba County Board of Education meeting.
