The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has released the name of a teen in a still-unsolved homicide in the Parkway neighborhood of South Sacramento earlier this month.
He was identified as Shukeim Murray, 18, of Sacramento.
Gunshots were reported near the 7500 block Wainscott Way about 2:19 a.m. on Feb. 8, but officers who responded to the scene could not immediately find the shooter or any apparent victims in the area, police said.
Half an hour later, police received word that a young man in his late teens arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. The teen, later identified as Murray, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after he arrived at 2:48 a.m.

Detectives said they believe the shooting was targeted and that Murray knew his attacker.
A day after the teen’s death, the neighborhood saw more violence when gunfire broke out near a memorial for Murray. One person was treated for a non life-threatening injury.
