The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday afternoon in the Tahoe Park area.
Officers responded at about 4 p.m. to a call from a resident in the 2600 block of 59th Street, near Second Avenue, about a man bleeding in front of a home. Police and a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department crew arrived and offered emergency medical help but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Sacramento Police Department Spokesman Matthew McPhail said the victim was thought to be in his 30s.
“We do not believe this is a random act. The motive has not yet been determined.” McPhail said.

He said he could not provide information on the man’s injuries until the Sacramento County Coroner’s office has done an autopsy.
“Detectives have canvassed the neighborhood extensively and a lot of neighbors were engaged (in the interview process),” McPhail said.
McPhail said detectives were on the scene late Sunday and that 59th Street was closed to traffic from the intersection of Second Avenue to U Street.
