Sacramento police are asking the public’s help in identifying a hit-and-run driver and vehicle that killed a 17-year-old girl Sept. 20 as she was walking in the Meadowview area.
Onaya Davis was en route to school when she was struck at Meadowview Road and Coral Gables Court shortly before 6 a.m.
Police said preliminary evidence indicated that Davis was crossing Meadowview Road at Coral Gables Court when she was hit by a vehicle westbound on Meadowview Road. After the collision, the vehicle left the scene, turning northbound on 24th Street, according to a Police Department news release.
Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle, described as a late ’90s, dark green sedan, possibly a Honda Accord. They said it may have front-end damage, but the damage may not be substantial.
