Sacramento police are asking the public for clues into a Saturday morning motorcycle wreck on Marconi Avenue that left its rider seriously injured.
Police say the unnamed motorcyclist struck a street sign at the intersection of Marconi and Connie Drive about 7:45 a.m. Officers arrived to find a passersby with the 26-year-old man, said police officials. Officers worked to revive the injured rider before Sacramento Fire Department personnel took over and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Sacramento police say the man was in serious condition at the local facility.
Police say its Major Collision investigators have taken over the probe into the wreck, with preliminary information revealing only that the motorcyclist was eastbound on Marconi toward Connie when he lost control of the motorcycle. Investigators do not believe speed was at issue and say it is not known whether the bike was struck by another vehicle.
