Shot fired during robbery of Placerville robbery of Dollar store

Placerville police said that one of two armed men who held up a Dollar Tree store over the weekend fired a shot during the robbery.

None of the employees or customers inside the store at 1480 Broadway were injured in the robbery at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the two men, each armed with a handgun, entered the store and demanded cash.

It was then that one of the robbers fired his weapon. The robbers fled with cash and have not been found.

One of the robbers was described as a short white man with a reddish brown mustache or goatee. He was dressed in black clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt, and had a bandana over his face, police said.

The second robber was also a white man dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and wore a bandana over his face. He was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and had a stocky build, according to police.
