A man was arrested Monday afternoon in Citrus Heights in connection with an early-morning domestic violence incident that left a woman injured and led police to dispatch SWAT officers.

Citrus Heights police responded about 3:45 a.m. to a 911 call in the 7800 block of Beaupre Way. When officers arrived, they located a woman who said she was a victim of domestic violence and that the suspect, identified as Benjamin Haven, 31, was still inside the home, a Police Department news release states.

The woman was transported to a hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

Officers made several unsuccessful attempts to contact Haven by telephone. Because of the seriousness of the crime and Haven’s criminal history, Citrus Heights SWAT officers responded to the home, police said. They searched the residence, but the suspect was not found inside.

About 1:45 p.m., Citrus Heights officers located Haven driving his vehicle and conducted a felony vehicle stop. Haven was taken into custody without incident and arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence.
