Sacramento Fire Department crews have knocked down a fire that started in a shed at a mobile home park Monday evening and threatened other mobile homes and a neighboring apartment complex.
Fire Department spokesman Roberto Padilla said the fire started about 6:30 p.m. in a mobile home park in the 6100 block of Stockton Boulevard. He said it was initially reported as a shed fire but crews were dispatched for a full structure fire because of the potential for it to spread to nearby mobile homes. He said one mobile home suffered smoke damage.
Fire crews were able to prevent damage to a neighboring apartment complex, Padilla said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Padilla said it is not known whether the fire started in the shed or in a recreational vehicle inside the shed.
