Q: Whatever happened to the man supsected of killing Arturo Sanchez in North Sacramento? I think it happened on Peralta Avenue years ago.
A: Arturo Sanchez, 38, was found shot to death near Northgate Boulevard in September 1986.
According to stories in The Sacramento Bee, Sanchez and another man were confronted by several men in front of a home on Peralta Avenue. Police said Sanchez, who was shot in the chest, apparently was armed with a sawed-off handgun when he was killed.

Donald Ray Williams, then 35, of North Sacramento was identified as the the suspect in what police said they believed was a drug-related homicide. No reports of Williams’ arrest were found in The Bee’s archives. Although several people with the same name are listed in Sacramento Superior Court online records, none appears to be related to this case.
