The patron shot to death at Cafe Monaco last week in the Little Saigon section of Sacramento County has been identified by the coroner.

The Sacramento County coroner’s website identifies him as Cheng C. Saeturn, 29, of Sacramento.

Sacramento County sheriff’s homicide detectives have arrested 35-year-old Minhkha Hoang Phan on suspicion of homicide in the death of Saeturn.

Detectives have not released a motive for the shooting. Deputies believe that Phan and Saeturn separately came to Cafe Monaco where a Chinese New Year celebration was occurring last week.

Dispatchers received a call reporting a shooting inside the cafe on Savings Place at about 4:40 a.m. Friday. The business is on a short street lined with commercial properties near Stockton Boulevard and the 65th Street Expressway.

Saeturn was pronounced dead at the scene.
