An 18-year-old Loomis man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly ran over his friend with his car while driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Roseville.
The victim, a 16-year-old male, was sent to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the Roseville Police Department.
Officers responded to a call at 8:30 p.m. at the end of Painted Desert Drive, a dead-end street that stops at theentrance to Adam Baquera Park, said Dee Dee Gunther, department spokeswoman.
When they arrived, officers found Adam Montie Johnson, the driver, who had called police.

“He reported the accident and police and fire responded,” she said. “He told us what happened.”
Gunther said that Johnson was driving out of the park’s parking lot in a 2013 Toyota Prius when he ran over his friend, who lives in Orangevale.
Johnson was arrested and booked into the Placer County jail on three charges of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, as well as causing great bodily injuries. He is being held on a $100,000 bail.
The end of Painted Desert Drive was closed until the early hours of Thursday morning as investigators collected evidence, according to the Police Department. The park near where the accident happened is surrounded by gated communities.
