A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to a half-century in prison for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.
During the year and a half that the assaults occurred, Randy Klippenstein threatened to kill the victim and lock her in a basement if she ever told anyone, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.
A Sacramento County jury in September convicted Klippenstein of numerous sexual offenses, including two counts of rape by force. He was sentenced Friday by Sacramento Superior Court Judge James Arguelles.
In August 2013, Klippenstein began making sexual comments about the appearance of the 17-year-old. Soon afterward, he sexually assaulted her and continued the sexual assaults for the next year and a half. The victim told Klippenstein “no” and tried pushing him away in an attempt to prevent the assaults, but was unsuccessful, prosecutors said.
