Placer County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who robbed a store at a North Auburn gas station and injured the clerk Wednesday night.
Deputies were called to The Store at the Sinclair gas station at the corner of Highway 49 and Dry Creek toad about 10 p.m. The clerk reported that a man tried to steal a 12-pack of beer and the clerk tried to stop him. The man fought the clerk, causing substantial bruising to the clerk’s face, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The man pulled a knife from his pocket, threatened the clerk, then fled.
Deputies set up a perimeter and a search was conducted using a K-9, but the man was not found.
Sheriff’s officials said the clerk declined medical treatment.

The Sheriff’s Office released surveillance photos of the suspected robber. He was wearing a blue and white checkered flannel shirt and a white baseball cap with a dark-colored brim.
