Mail thefts continue in Roseville, prompting authorities to provide tips to prevent loss of letters and packages.

Someone broke into a cluster of mailboxes in the 2700 block of Carradale Drive on Feb. 23 and removed mail, according to Roseville police. Then, on Thursday, a gold Hyundai sedan drove up next to a mailbox in the 1500 block of Pine Valley Circle.

The passenger reached out of the car’s window as if to take mail out of the box. However, a mail carrier happened to drive up at the same time and the car sped away.

Tips to stem mail thefts:

▪  Report thefts to police and U.S. Postal Service inspectors at (877) 876-2455.

▪  Send outgoing letters by dropping them in a streetside mailbox or handing them to postal carriers.

▪  Pick up mail promptly on delivery.

▪  Expecting checks or credit cards? Have a trusted neighbor promptly pick up mail.

▪  Have postal service hold mail when out of town.
