Woman freed from car, taken to hospital after Interstate 5 rollover

A woman was sent to the hospital Friday morning after her vehicle rolled over near the Q Street off ramp on northbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento, said Michael Bradley, a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

A tweet sent out by the Sacramento Fire Department said the woman was extricated from her vehicle and taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The rollover was reported to the CHP about 6:25 a.m. The woman was driving a gray Honda and was blocking the slow lane on the freeway, according to Bradley.

Though no cause for the rollover has been determined, Bradley said there were reports of flooding on the highway 30 minutes after the rollover.

Crews cleared the roadway just before 8 a.m. No other vehicles were involved, Bradley said.
