A man has been arrested in the shooting of his father-in-law Friday in El Dorado County.

Joseph Hinds, 33, was booked into El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, and was being held Friday afternoon in lieu of $75,000 bail, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies were called to the 2600 block of Country Club Drive in Cameron Park at about 2:30 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting at a home. Deputies found David Klinker, a man in his 50s, suffering from a gunshot wound in his abdomen.

Klinker was taken to a hospital. He is expected to survive.

A man suspected of shooting Klinker was found at another house in El Dorado County. The man, identified as Hinds, was questioned by deputies and arrested.

An El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said a domestic disturbance between Hinds and his wife prompted the woman to call Klinker, who is her father. When Klinker went to the house, he was shot.

A weapon thought to have been used in the shooting has been recovered.
