Seminar to help senior citizens avoid falling victim to fraud

Senior citizens can learn how to avoid being fooled by scam artists during an April 1 Senior Scam Stoppers seminar sponsored by the Contractors State License Board.

The free seminar will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cordova Recreation and Park District’s Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center, 3480 Routier Road.

Seniors are the group most often targeted by scams, and one in five senior citizens has been a victim of fraud, according to a park district news release.

The seminar is geared toward seniors, their families and caregivers.
