Driver killed when vehicle hits tree, fence in Rio Linda
A 49-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Rio Linda.
The crash was reported at 5:13 p.m.in the 7300 block of West Sixth Street. Officer Chad Hertzell, CHP spokesman, said the vehicle hit a tree and went through a wire fence into a backyard. He said the driver, the only person in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Information regarding the circumstances that led to the crash were not available. Hertzell said he could not confirm a report that the driver might have been involved in a theft.
