James Dean identified as crash victim in Rio Linda

A 49-year-old man who died last week in Rio Linda when his vehicle hit a tree and went through a wire fence into a backyard has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The man is listed on the coroner’s website as James Dean. No city of residence was listed for him.

Dean, the only person in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of West Sixth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
