Moose head reported stolen from North Lake Tahoe resort

Placer County sheriff’s officials are asking the public’s help in tracking down a moose head stolen from a North Lake Tahoe resort earlier this year.

Between midnight and 7 a.m. Jan. 22, someone entered the lobby of the Sunnyside Resort in North Lake Tahoe and stole the mounted moose head, an icon of the historic resort, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary or the whereabouts of the moose head is asked to call Detective John Lasagna with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office investigations division in Tahoe City, (530) 581-6323. Callers who wish to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 can call Placer County Crime Stoppers at (800) 923-1891, or submit a tip via the Crime Stoppers website.
