A registered sex offender who was arrested last week for allegedly having child porn remained in jail on Monday with his bail set at $1 million.
William Robert Stephenson, 60, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Roseville police detectives. He was booked into Placer County Jail on suspicion of being a registered sex offender in possession images of child pornography.
A joint investigation of the Placer County sheriff’s office and the Roseville police department led to detectives allegedly finding the offending images on Stephenson’s electronic devices.
He was arrested at his Roseville home.

Having images or videos of a child engaging or simulating sexual acts is a felony. Penalties are enhanced if the offender is already a sex offender.
