The van of a slain Citrus Heights woman was found in Sacramento with her suspected killer at the wheel on Tuesday.
Sacramento police located the Honda Odyssey van on Marysville Boulevard. The driver, Allen Bocteemus Franks, 48, was detained with the vehicle.
He was eventually booked into Sacramento County jail early Wednesday morning on homicide charges in the death of Kimberly Ann Chittenden, 46, of Citrus Heights. He also was jailed on a misdemeanor charge of violating probation.
Citrus Heights police say that Chittenden was found in her home in the 7900 block of Rocky Point Court near Sunrise Boulevard and Madison Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene about 2:40 p.m. Monday, Chittenden was unresponsive.
She was rushed to a hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead at 3:13 p.m. Monday.
Police said that her injuries indicated that she had been assaulted.
Chittenden’s silver minivan was taken minutes after her homicide by a “person of interest,” according to police. That person apparently was Franks.
Police said that Franks and Chittenden knew each other.
