A person was taken to an area hospital Saturday evening after a shooting near the Fruitridge Community Center in south Sacramento.
The shooting occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near Fruitridge Road and Mendocino Boulevard, according to Sgt. Tony Turnbull, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman. An argument preceded the shooting, he said.
The victim sustained a non-life threatening wound to the neck, Turnbull said.
Turnbull said deputies do not know whether the victim and the shooter knew one another. The shooter is still at large, and there is no description available, Turnbull said.
