A 49-year-old woman was stabbed to death and a little girl suffered multiple wounds Tuesday in a violent Placerville incident that still had authorities searching for the suspect late Wednesday.
The woman was identified Wednesday as Silvia Castillo, 49, of Placerville. The 4-year-old child, who was not identified, is expected to survive.
Bernardo Castillo, 24, is being sought in the woman’s killing. The El Dorado Sheriff’s Office also is looking for a 2002 white Ford Explorer with California license plate number 4XTF911 in connection with the crime.
Silvia Castillo and the child were stabbed in a residence in the 3000 block of Newtown Road, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and found Silvia Castillo dead and the girl wounded inside the home.
