A man already in jail on vandalism charges is suspected of allegedly spray painting hateful writing and swastikas on a downtown church.
Nico Kade Traversie, 23, already jailed by Citrus Heights police, got another charge of vandalism added for allegedly marring the exterior walls of St. Francis Catholic church in midtown Sacramento.
Two swastikas were found painted in black on the K Street side of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish the morning of June 17, said the Rev. Desmond O’Reilly.
The German Nazi party adopted the ancient design, and white supremacists have since used it to promote their beliefs.
