The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has identified the driver killed on Sunday when his pickup rolled on Highway 99 in the Sacramento area.
The driver, William Brandon Jakaboski, 23, of Rio Linda, died and his passenger was seriously injured when his truck flipped and rolled on southbound Highway 99 near Elverta Road just north of Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Toyota pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and was recklessly passing other vehicles when the vehicle ran off the right shoulder and Jakaboski lost control about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
The truck rolled at least once and ended up on its roof. Jakaboski was pronounced dead at the scene.
