Robbers posing as deputies rob Sutter County resident at gunpoint
The Sutter County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early-morning robbery in which two men reportedly gained entry to a Rio Oso residence by saying they were deputies.
The robbery occurred about 4:25 a.m. Tuesday in the 4200 block of Bear River Drive in the community of Rio Oso. Two men knocked on the door of a residence and identified themselves as deputies, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
The victim opened the door and the two men forced their way into the home. One of the intruders stood over the victim holding what looked like a short-barreled shotgun, the news release said. The robbers took the victim’s car keys, cell phones, laptop computer and some change.
