A 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision near Sacramento’s Natomas area Thursday night.
The collision occurred about 8:30 p.m. on El Centro Road, just outside the Sacramento city limits. Officer Chad Hertzell, Califorania Highway Patrol spokesman, said a the bicyclist was hit by a blue vehicle that left the scene.
Hertzell said the vehicle’s right side mirror was left at the collision site and investigators will use the mirror to try to determine what type of vehicle was involved.
No details were available on the circumstances surrounding the collision, he said.
El Centro Road was closed at Leona Circle for investigation.
