Man with dementia reported missing from Sacramento home

Sacramento police are asking the public’s help in locating a 59-year-old man who suffers from dementia.

James Pettus was last seen about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday near the 100 block of Pinedale Ave., in the Robla area, when he walked away from his residence, according to a Police Department Facebook post.

Pettus is described as African American, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 196 pounds, with salt and pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a gray and white T-shirt, tan shorts, white socks and black shoes.

Police said he has been known to walk away in the past.

Anyone with information regarding Pettus’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department at 916-264-5471, or 911.
