Watch CHP cadets make their way across Tower Bridge in pre-dawn hours
About 100 California Highway Patrol cadets on Wednesday morning completed the traditional run marking mark the completion of their 28-week training period at the CHP Academy.
The cadets made the 5-mile run from West Sacramento to the California Peace Officers' Memorial. Family and friends lined Sacramento streets to get a glimpse of the cadets. They finished at the memorial near the state Capitol which honors more than 1,600 state peace officers who died in the line of duty.
