Man sought in Kings Beach auto theft also suspected of other crimes
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying a man, shown in a surveillance photo, who is suspected of stealing a vehicle in Kings Beach earlier this month.
A vehicle parked outside the Bank of the West was stolen Sept. 8 and was recovered the following day in Truckee. Investigators suspect the same person is responsible for other thefts in the area, according to a Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
The man is described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 190 pounds, with red or light brown hair, and possibly a goatee. He was wearing a blue “Norway” sweat shirt, gray pants and blue shoes.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Detective John Lasagna at 530-581-6320. Those wishing to remain anonymous and to be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if the tip leads to an arrest can call Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800-923-8191 or submit a tip online at tips.placercrimestoppers.com.
