Man who struck Sacramento RT bus in fatal collision identified
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal collision Monday afternoon involving a Sacramento Regional Transit bus and another vehicle.
Vontae Grant, 21, of Sacramento died at an area hospital after striking the rear of a bus that had stopped on Fruitridge Road to drop off passengers. Grant was the only person in the vehicle, said Linda Matthew, Sacramento police spokeswoman.
Wendy Williams, a spokeswoman for Regional Transit, said one person aboard the bus complained of pain but opted to seek medical attention on his own and was not taken to a hospital.
