Sacramento police investigate death of woman found in hotel room

Sacramento police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Wednesday afternoon in a South Natomas hotel room.

Police spokesman Sgt. Doug Morse said police officers and the Sacramento Fire Department personnel responded about 12:36 p.m. to a report of a possibly deceased woman in a motel in the 3700 block of Northgate Boulevard, near Rosin Court. He said paramedics confirmed that the woman was dead.

There had been no report of an altercation and Morse said there were no overt signs of suspicious causes. Detectives and crime scene investigators are on scene and awaiting arrival of the coroner to determine whether the case is a homicide, he said.
