The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a 19-year-old man who has not been seen since Sunday, when he reported by phone that he was lost in a wooded area.

Tristian Lucero was last contacted by phone Sunday afternoon. He told a friend that he had been lost in the woods for several hours and had no idea where he was, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. He mentioned that he was walking along flumes in an area where flumes recently had been repaired and also mentioned that he had just walked over a “grate.”

Sheriff’s officials said Lucero is believed to have been in an area between the bridge at Whiskey Flats, off Jodran Hill Road in Magalia, and the Dean Road area of Paradise.

An friend reportedly left Lucero in the woods in the early morning hours Sunday to find help. An unknown man found the friend at an unknown location and gave him a ride home, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The man was said to be driving a blue Suzuki Samurai and had a woman passenger. Sheriff’s officials would like to speak with the man and woman to determine where they found Lucero’s friend.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jay Freeman with the Butte County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit at (530) 538-7671.
