A 28-year-old man is in jail after being accused of accosting school children who were visiting Old Sacramento.
The incident was reported at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on Front Street. Sacramento police spokesman Officer Eddie Macaulay said the man, identified as Ricky Huffman, allegedly approached the children and grabbed two of them by the shoulder.
Macaulay said officers were still investigating the incident and no details were available.
Huffman, who is believed to be homeless, was arrested on suspicion of willful cruelty toward a child and willful threat of a crime that puts a person in fear of their safety, both misdemeanors, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $26,000.
