Six cars collided Wednesday afternoon on eastbound Interstate 80, sending two injured drivers to the hospital.
When traffic stopped west of Mace Boulevard in Davis at 2:54 p.m., a 41-year-old Roseville man driving a silver Buick crashed into the rear of a gray Ford being driven by a 76-year-old Vallejo man, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. The colision sent the Ford into the middle lane, where it hit two more cars.
The impact nudged a 2008 green Nissan into the left lane, where it hit a silver Hyundai. Another driver attempting to avoid the collision in the right lane crashed into the Hyundai as well.
The Buick driver suffered major injuries from the collision, while the Vallejo man had minor injuries. Both were taken to the UC Davis Medical Center, according to the CHP.
