Police release security images of man wanted in downtown theft

Police are seeking help identifying a man who allegedly stole from someone inside a downtown business early last month.

Surveillance video cameras captured the suspect entering a business in the 400 block of I Street just before the unidentified personal property was stolen about 7 p.m. Oct. 6. The person of interest is described as a 240-pound man between age 18 and 25 with short hair, a light complexion and glasses. He was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve button-up shirt, dark pants and gray shoes.

Only the suspect and victim are thought to know what was stolen, said Officer Eddie Macaulay, Sacramento Police Department spokesman. There is no evidence the item was taken by force.
