Two Kings Beach men are in custody, accused of striking a woman with the butt of a rifle during a home burglary in Truckee.
Stewart De Vaney, 21, and Simon Wyss, 19, were arrested by Truckee police detectives Tuesday. They are accused of several offenses, including the attack on the woman as well as burglary, being armed in the commission of a felony, possession of stolen property, armed robbery and narcotics offenses, according to a Truckee Police Department news release.
The 35-year-old woman arrived at a friend’s home on Olympic Boulevard on Truckee on Saturday, and when she entered the residence, she was met by two men who were wearing ski masks and armed with rifles. One of the men struck the woman with the butt of a rifle, cutting her forehead, the news release said. The men then fled the residence, which appeared to be the site of a marijuana growing operation, according to police.
The primary residents of the home were away at the time, and the injured woman, who was bleeding heavily, contacted another friend, who took her to Tahoe Forest Hospital for treatment and called police.
