A Yuba City bar is prohibited from selling or serving alcoholic beverages for the next 15 days following suspension of its liquor license by the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The Corner Bar at 215 Fairman St. is accused of operating a “disorderly house.” Thursday’s suspension follows an investigation conducted over several months by the ABC and Yuba City Police Department into disorderly activities occurring at the business, according to an ABC news release. Police have responded to the business numerous times for incidents such as fights, assaults, public drunkenness, disturbing the peace and for a shooting that occurred in front of the bar in May, the news release said.
According to local media accounts, the May shooting stemmed from an argument that began inside the bar.
The 15-day license suspension will be followed by a year of probation, the news release said.
